Zelnehlun's Longbow
What's the beef with this unique?
It has a great skin, the "best" mods, and an above average insignia. So why is this price so low? 3-5k is the rock bottom for green prices. So does anyone know why this great bow is so cheap? (Not that I'm complaining, I just bought one for 3k. xD) |

It's because it's incredibly easy to farm. And there are so many available that they're so cheap. I remember selling them for ~15k a week of two after NF was released. Plus, when NF was released, the boss wouldn't attack. Easy free kill.

I don't think many other people like the skin and the 15%/armor -10 while attacking mod is definitely not the most desirable damage mod

All of the above, basically,, overfarmed (takes about 2 mins to farm) and not the best mods and skin IMO.

It's a great bow, excellent skin and good mods. And I have a dozen in store and have given twice that number away for free to guildies, alliance or used on heroes.

The price of an item was 5 main factors;
Color - Gold is top followed by green/purple Skin - Skin isn't that important, if an item is hard to get it will be valuable, no matter what it looks like. Req - Lower req sell for more because they are harder to get. Most sensible people sell low req, and keep high req to use. Damage Mod - 15^50 is the most sought after because it's the most versatile. Rareness - This is the biggest deciding factor on price. A req item with a high req will always (there are a few exceptions) sell for more then a common item with a low req. By that you can work out why your bow is so cheap.. #1 easy to farm #2 it's green #3 not 15^50 PCing 101

It's because everyone can farm it. When I say everyone, I mean any profession, and it doesn't even have to be lvl 20. I remember having around 7 of those bows at one point...

Well, it's not the most worthless Green in existence.
I think either The Purifier or Shreader's Talons takes that spot. |

Take a Rotscale anyday.
To the OP: The stats are fine, skin is fine.... why are you bitching about it not selling? Nothing's selling anymore. Take the good stuff/good looking stuff for yourself and your heroes and be happy. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE MONEY SELLING GREENS ANYMORE! KANE |

Supply and demand is the main factor in any MMO economy.
High supply + low demand = worthless. Low supply + high demand = valuable. Quote:

I agree, greens arent the way to make money anymore. With inscriptions, people can construct their perfect weapon with a better skin, if they get a gold.
simple fact is that it was overfarmed, its quite late in the game and its still really easy. supply-demand. simple. |

N/R specced in death magic can solo that boss ... its that easy.
Really, its propably THE easiest green to farm, it has quite bad stats (15/-10 is really bad, sundering is not stewllar either), its skin is not really cool. 3k is too much for it. |

[Or alternatively.... because the stats aren't all that awesome... the skin is "alright"... and the Green... note: Greens of a type = All the same ... is very easily farmed.] |

that spot was overfarmed a long time agao, before loot scaleing you could pull 100k a week out of there. it's still a pretty good spot to get weekend event drops, such as the cupcakes from the birthday event.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...00013913789665 i use to sell my golds for 1k with one of these bows free... eventually i couldn't even get rid of em that way, and just started giving them away to lowbies in the starter towns when i got a full inv screen of them.
